Kaigo Rojin Hoken Shisetsu Santa Maria: Users' Fee
Kaigo Rojin Hoken Shisetsu users are required to pay two types of fees: (1) a co-payment equal to 10% of the Kaigo Hoken (long-term care insurance) benefits received, and (2) costs required for services and/or items that are not covered by the Kaigo Hoken. The latter includes a room and board fee; expenses for daily personal items; a barber's fee; a materials charge for arts and crafts activities; and a processing fee (pertinent to either documentation of the client's medical certificate or the long-term care insurance application).
Services covered by the Kaigo Hoken are determined separately by Home-Based Services and In-Facility Services.
Clients' out-of-pocket expenses may differ in accordance with the benefits covered by the Kaigo Hoken; this is contingent upon a number of factors: the location of the facility; the number of staff; whether the facility provides special care for clients with dementia, etc. Other costs (e.g. facility fees) are determined by each facility.
Clients can apply for In-Facility Services directly at the facility office window.
However, in order to apply for Short-Stay and Day Rehabilitation Care (provided at the Santa Maria, but categorized as Home-Based Services), clients must have their care manager make a home-based care plan that explicitly includes Short-Stay and Day Rehabilitation Care. If clients wish to use Pick-Up/Drop-Off, Bathing, and Meal Services during their Short-Stay and Day Rehabilitation Care period, they are required to have their care manager include these services in their care plan.
